E. Neil Gilliss, MBA, CFP®

Neil is the founder Canal Capital Management and serves as the firm’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Throughout his career, Neil has provided comprehensive wealth management planning to successful business owners, professionals and families.

Neil grew up on the Eastern Shore of Virginia where he attended Broadwater Academy before graduating from Hampden-Sydney College with honors in Managerial Economics. Neil then went on to receive his MBA from the University of Richmond.

Noah Greenbaum

A Canal Capital Management team member since its founding, Noah serves as Vice President and Director of Investments – coordinating the day to day operations surrounding Canal’s portfolios.

Noah is from Richmond and attended the Collegiate School before graduating from the University of Virginia. At UVA, Noah was a four year member of the Football Team earning Athletic Honor Roll recognition.

Addison B Thompson, JD

Tad serves as Canal Capital’s Director of Business Development, scheduling prospective Individual and Institutional client meetings. As a former Attorney and Estate Planning specialist, he also lends his expertise to complex planning issues.

Tad grew up in Richmond where he attended the Collegiate Schools before studying at Princeton University and earning his law degree from the University of Virginia.

Margaret Smith, CPA

Margaret serves as Canal Capital’s Director of Financial Planning and Tax Services, with an emphasis on proactive income and estate tax planning.

Margaret received her undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Virginia and Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University..
